Harrison Sports Academy finds a way to connect with every athlete in the training program. We have experience coaching from the youth level all the way through the college level. Although the football levels may differ, the level of excellence is expected and encouraged. We are adept at working with all positions during our football training sessions.
Harrison Sports Academy is ready to tailor the training sessions to your needs. We will implement a football session plan to help expand your game on each level. There is not a one size fits all aspect to playing quarterback. However, we focus on quick decision making and fundamentals inside and out of the pocket. We teach you how to command a huddle and run an offense. Our quarterbacks will learn how to call plays and relay signals. Check this first week football session plan for more information.
The wide receivers will learn the importance of each step of a specific route. We will work on quickness in and out of breaks and how to maintain balance in all situations. We will teach the importance of cutting off of each leg to strengthen the plant step. Most importantly, we will tailor the training to you particular needs this summer.
Harrison Sports Academy running backs will concentrate on 5 basic principles to begin their football session plan. First, we must establish elite footwork and balance. The running backs must also learn how to read blocks. Quickness and tempo is also a key element to becoming a great running back. If a running back has all of these attributes, they still must maintain ball security. The No. 5 key to becoming a dominant running back is to be a viable receiving threat. Here is the first week football session plan for our running backs.
Harrison Sports Academy breaks down the offensive line by positions. Our centers work on explosive snapping from under center and shotgun. An offensive play can’t get started without a proper snap. That’s why it’s critical for the center-QB exchange to be as flawless as possible. Centers also have to be quick off the ball. We run drills for run blocking and pass blocking sets. These include footwork activities to flourish with seal blocks, combo blocks and pulling. Here is more information on the offensive line football session plan.
The tight end position group is a hybrid of the offensive line and wide receiver training manual. We will work on routes like the best wide receivers from every position on the field. If you’re running a route you need to run it to the best of your ability regardless of position. However, the TE could be the most pivotal piece in the run game. The more versatile you become the more dynamic you can be as a player.
Harrison Sports Academy will teach different techniques. A great pass rusher is explosive off the snap. They are able to use their feet and hands in concert. Defensively linemen read and react when attacking the run, while maintaining gap integrity. They display speed from sideline to sideline. We will work on inside techniques with hand placement.
Harrison Sports Academy linebacker training uses basic principles to build a solid foundation. read and react, attack the run. Display speed from sideline to sideline. work on the edge rush as well as get depth in linebacker drops.
If you are an outside pass rusher let’s work on the quickness off the snap. We are teaching effective rips and swim moves from each of the DE/OLB positions. Advanced edge rushers will work on spin moves to complement the basic pass rush moves.
Defensive backs will concentrate on drills and proper footwork. However, like every position on here, Harrison Sports Academy will implement a plan to teach the game in the correct manner. Athletes will learn man and zone concepts and why each coverage package is used. We will not dictate robotic movements to our DB’s. The secondary will also work on ball skills as part of out football session plan. Afterall, it’s your ball when it’s in the air.
